# Update contact group

> Update the group’s name and/or description.

`PATCH https://api.sndr.sh/v1/contact-groups/{id}`

Update the group’s name and/or description. Omitted fields keep their value; the name cannot be empty. The slug does not change.

Scope: `send`

**Path parameters**

- `id` (string, required): Group ID (grp_...).

**Body** (JSON)

- `name` (string): New name. Omitting it clears the name.
- `description` (string): New description. Omitting it clears the description.

**Errors**

- `unauthenticated` (401): Missing or invalid API key.
- `invalid_request` (400): Body is not valid JSON, has an unknown field, or a field has the wrong type.
- `insufficient_scope` (403): The API key is missing the send scope.
- `not_found` (404): Resource does not exist or belongs to a different account.
