# Delete contact group

Delete a group and its memberships. The contacts themselves are kept. A group that a broadcast still targets cannot be deleted.

Scope: `send`

**Path parameters**

- `id` (string, required): Group ID (grp_...).

**Errors**

- `unauthenticated` (401): Missing or invalid API key.
- `insufficient_scope` (403): The API key is missing the send scope.
- `not_found` (404): Resource does not exist or belongs to a different account.
- `group_in_use` (409): A broadcast still targets this group. Delete or retarget the broadcast first.
